Day #4 with my parents
Things I learned on the internet while hiding from my family:
Jeremy Bentham
This early British criminologist and philosopher became popular for his work in the early 1800s and advocated that women deserved full equal rights.. He believed that basic rights afforded to all men and women would achieve the basic principal of true democracy, and that political policy and reform should promote the...

Christmas Spirit: Snapped on Oxygen
My parents and I are celebrating Christmas watching Snapped: the true-crime series which profiles the fascinating cases of women accused of murder. Did Linda Henning and Daizien Hossencofft kill Girly Chew? Did they believe they were aliens? Did they use a samurai sword? Do I feel the Christmas spirit? YES, YES, YES and YES.
Are You Aware of It: How to Survive the Holidays
The Holidays are great. Time with family, great food, amazing music, presents…but if you are used to being on your own and doing your own thang then all this time with family can start to go crazy. Especially if your mom inquires whether you have been wearing your retainers, if you are eating enough vegetables or accuses your father’s genetics as the reason why you are still breaking...

Yelp is not a comedy open mic night
I would cautiously support a eugenics program if it focused on eliminating people who write Yelp reviews that try to be funny.
Just review the bar buddy. Drinks, prices, atmosphere, bathrooms, good for groups?, allows dogs?, etc. Otherwise can it.

Craiglist: Girlfriend Wanted (holidays only)
I was just forwarded this amazing craigslist ad where a dude in the mission is accepting applications for a “Holiday Girlfriend”, relationship will contractually end January 2nd at 11:59pm. Tempting…
Let me be clear. I want a girlfriend. But, I don’t really want a girlfriend.
I just want one for the holidays.
Let’s recognize something. The holidays suck,...

PSA: Awesome people please stop killing...
Did you know that the 24th St BART Punk Rock Johnny Cash killed himself on November 6th? I fucking loved this guy. He was an amazing singer, I wonder if he could have guessed so many people would be devastated by his death? Being a busker seems like the kind of job where you are being ignored 90% of the time. I’m gonna tip a busker this week and always make sure to smile.
This news comes on...

HOLY CRAP this is some good bread pudding
I swore I was going to totally follow the recipe. It all started with my corner store being out of regular milk, so I bought buttermilk…and then since I wasn’t following the recipe anymore, I just went a little craycray: Vanilla, maple syrup, almond milk, brown sugar, increased spices, more than twice the amount of bourbon… This recipe is adapted from an October 2007 Smitten...

Today is Thanksgivingmonday!
I’m celebrating Thanksgiving all week. Thanksgiving is my straight up favorite holiday. In my opinion it is Jewish Christmas. Hannukah is dumb and not a real holiday and anyone who says otherwise is just trying to keep their kids from crying. Thanksgiving is where it’s at. It has everything that makes Christmas awesome minus the tree, which I’ve never cared for anyway. There...
